About this course
The SADA/WARDIP Peering and Interconnection Capacity Building Masterclass is a two day Level 3 in person programme taking place on 31 October to 1 November 2026 in Accra, Ghana, ahead of the African Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF) 2026. The programme will bring together approximately 30 senior ICT Ministry officials, telecommunications regulators, Internet Exchange Point (IXP) managers and competition authority officials from African Member States. The Masterclass will strengthen participants' technical and policy capacity in Internet peering and interconnection, Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), national peering and interconnection policy, routing security including RPKI and BGP, and regional interconnection coordination. It will also explore how African policymakers can contribute effectively to Internet infrastructure governance discussions within AfIGF, WSIS+20 and ITU processes. As a practical output, each participant will develop a National Peering and Interconnection Action Note, outlining their country context, priority gaps, proposed actions and follow up commitments.
The programme is delivered with the Internet Society (ISOC) and Packet Clearing House (PCH) as lead trainers.
