About this course
The Smart Africa Digital Academy (SADA), under the World Bank-funded Western Africa Regional Digital Integration Program, SOP1 (WARDIP SOP1), in collaboration with the Kenya School of Government (KSG), is convening a continental capacity-building series focused on two foundational enablers of Africa's digital transformation: data governance and cybersecurity readiness.
The series is designed to support policymakers, regulators, senior public officials, and digital transformation practitioners with practical knowledge, peer learning, and institution-focused tools to strengthen trusted, secure, and inclusive digital government across Africa.

Webinar 1: Data Governance for Digital Transformation in Africa

This session will explore how African public institutions can establish effective data governance frameworks that promote data quality, privacy, security, interoperability, accountability, and responsible data sharing. It will also highlight practical approaches to strengthening evidence-based policymaking, improving public-service delivery, and building trust in digital government.

This session will examine Africa's evolving cybersecurity landscape and explore how public institutions can strengthen preparedness, protect Digital Public Infrastructure and essential services, and embed cyber resilience into digital-government programmes.
