    Data Protection Cross-Regional Peer Exchange Study Tour: Nigeria & Kenya

    On behalf of Smart Africa and the Smart Africa Digital Academy (SADA) , in collaboration with the World Bank , we are pleased to announce the Data Protection Cross-Regional Peer Exchange Study Tour. This first-of-its-kind dual-session engagement is convened under the DTfA WARDIP SOP1 capacity building framework.

    Theme: Data Protection Cross-Regional Peer Exchange Study Tour

    • Session 1: Abuja, Nigeria | 4–5 May 2026 | Hosted by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

    • Session 2: Nairobi, Kenya | 7–8 May 2026 | Hosted by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).


    Programme Overview

    This intensive study tour moves beyond traditional training into structured peer learning. It provides Data Protection Authority (DPA) leads and technical experts with direct exposure to the operational models, regulatory instruments, and enforcement tools of two of the continent's leading DPAs.

    Participants will engage in site visits, expert sessions, and collaborative workshops across seven priority themes, including secondary regulation, technology tools, and institutional sustainability.

    A primary outcome of this exchange is the development of a concrete 90-day improvement plan for each participating DPA.
