The curriculum builds your understanding from the ground up, beginning with AI foundations and its four branches (machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and generative AI), then moving through real sectoral applications in health, agriculture, finance, and governance. You will learn practical prompt engineering and output evaluation techniques, work through the ethical principles and governance landscape including the AU Data Policy Framework, and finish with a five-step solution design methodology for turning a public sector need into a responsible AI deployment.

By mastering these concepts, you will be equipped to set realistic expectations of what AI can deliver, interrogate vendor accuracy claims, apply ethical guardrails to real decisions, and design AI solutions that start from the problem and keep people accountable for outcomes.
