On behalf of Smart Africa (SADA) in collaboration with ECOWAS, and under the DTfA / WARDIP SOP-1 programme, we are pleased to welcome participants to the Knowledge-Exchange & Stakeholder Engagement Workshop among Africa’s Regional Economic Communities (RECs) on Creating a Unified Network for Africa Through International Roaming (One Africa Network – OAN). This workshop contributes directly to Africa’s Single Digital Market agenda and supports the broader objective of enabling seamless, affordable, and harmonised connectivity across the continent.
Theme: Knowledge-Exchange & Stakeholder Engagement Workshop
Dates: 2–4 June 2026
Time: 09:00 Lagos, Nigeria time (10:00 South Africa time)
Format: Multiple in-person sessions (QR code attendance)
This three-day, in-person workshop is designed to strengthen regional capacity within ECOWAS to advance roaming and digital integration initiatives while progressively aligning with the continental vision of the One Africa Network (OAN). The workshop provides a strategic platform for policymakers, regulators, and regional institutions to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and collaborate on practical approaches to harmonised cross-border telecommunications and digital policy frameworks.
Participants will gain valuable insights into the OAN framework, lessons learned from other Regional Economic Communities, and the technical, regulatory, and commercial considerations required to implement interoperable roaming environments across Africa.
