Sub-Saharan Africa carries 25 percent of the global disease burden with only 3 percent of the world's health workers. Artificial intelligence is already addressing this gap - from AI-guided drone delivery in Rwanda to smartphone retinopathy screening in Kenya. This course equips senior health officials and policymakers with the knowledge to govern that transformation responsibly. Five modules cover AI foundations and terminology, four major application domains, real African and global case studies, practical and ethical governance challenges, and the long-term future of AI in African health systems. The course closes with a country readiness scorecard and an ungraded AI implementation plan challenge.
