Course information

This course equips African policymakers with a rigorous, non-technical understanding of how artificial intelligence works. Three modules cover the core components and types of AI, the mechanics of neural networks and machine learning, and the sectoral applications and governance requirements for AI deployment in Africa. Learners gain the vocabulary, conceptual framework, and policy tools needed to evaluate AI procurement proposals, commission local validation studies, and design governance frameworks proportionate to AI's risks and opportunities.
